BEFORE YOU BOOK
How do we book you as our officiant?
Start by reaching out through the contact form or by email. I'll get back to you to confirm my availability and learn a little about what you're planning. Once we've decided that Matt Barranca is the right fit to perform your wedding, we'll secure your date with a contract and a 50% deposit.
What happens after we reach out?
We'll start with a conversation. You can tell me about your plans, what you're looking for, and anything you already have in mind for your ceremony. If you're not sure exactly what you want yet, that's completely okay. We'll figure it out together.
What if we're not sure which Collection is right for us?
That's completely normal. Every couple approaches their wedding differently. I'm happy to talk through what you're planning and help you find the Collection that makes the most sense for you.

YOUR CEREMONY
How do you create a ceremony that feels personal to us?
It starts with listening. I'll want to hear about your relationship, the experiences you've shared, and the details that make the two of you uniquely yourselves. Those conversations become the foundation for a ceremony written specifically for you.
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely. Personal vows can be incorporated into your ceremony if you'd like them to be. If you want to write your own, I'm happy to offer guidance, examples, or simply give you the space to find the words that feel right.
How long is a typical ceremony?
Most full wedding ceremonies are approximately 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the elements you choose to include. The goal isn't to make the ceremony a certain length. It's to give the important moments the time they deserve.
Can we include readings, traditions, or other special elements?
Yes. Readings, unity ceremonies, cultural or family traditions, personal vows, and other meaningful elements can all be incorporated into your ceremony. We'll talk about what matters to you and find a way to include it naturally.
PRACTICAL DETAILS
Are your ceremonies legal in Michigan?
Yes. I am authorized to solemnize marriages in Michigan. You'll need a valid Michigan marriage license, and two witnesses who are at least 18 years old must be present for the ceremony. I'll help guide you through the marriage license process and handle the necessary filing after the ceremony.
What areas do you serve?
I'm based in St. Clair Shores and serve couples throughout Metro Detroit and across Michigan. Local travel is included, with additional travel fees applying to locations more than 25 miles from St. Clair Shores.
Do you perform rehearsals?
Yes. Rehearsals are available as an additional option. I'll help your wedding party understand where to be, when to move, and how the ceremony will unfold so everyone can feel more comfortable when the actual wedding day arrives.
What happens if our outdoor ceremony needs to move because of the weather?
Michigan weather has a way of keeping everyone humble.
If plans need to change, I'll work with you, your venue, and your planner to make the necessary adjustments. I've navigated plenty of Plan B ceremonies over the years, and more often than not, the guests barely notice the change.
